Fr. Amador Nuñez cmf (In Zimbabwe from 2002 to 2006)

My Name is Fr. Amador Núñez Vecino. I was born on 17th of May 1944 in Zamora, Castrogonzalo. I belonged to the first group of Missionaries who arrived in Zimbabwe from the Bética Province in January 2002. We established ourselves first at Gwave Mission and from there we started opening Zhomba. It was amazing at the very beginning to adjust to a new culture, language and customs, but our enthusiasm and missionary spirit overtook hardships in times of deep political changes and shortage. However, I will never forget my missionary task in Zimbabwe and the good and committed people from that country. I came back to Spain in 2006 due to some health problems but my missionary experience in Africa is always in my mind and I will never forget.

Best wishes and regards to all.

Baba Amado cmf
