I am a Claretian missionary. Born in Nerva (Huelva Province), nevertheless, I moved to Seville city at 10 years old, and because of that, most of the claretians think that I am a “sevillano”. I studied in the Claret School in Seville. When I was 17, I joined the Congregation in Loja (Granada Province), where I did my Postulancy, Noviciate and, finally, my First vows on September 8th, 1974 (a lot of water has flowed under the bridge since then!). Then I passed to Granada´s Theologate, where I studied my Licence in Theology and I was ordained as a Priest in 1982. Later on, I got a Licence in Philosophy by the UNED. I have been working both in rural and sub-urban parishes, and also in Schools. Since 2002, I have been in the Claretian Mission in Zimbabwe, where I arrived with the first missionary team. During these 16 years I have worked in all the missionary communities: Gwave Mission, Ruwa Parish, Zhomba Mission. Since January 2017, I am part of the Formation Team of the Mission, receiving and accompanying both the aspirants and postulants, who want to join the Congregation in their first formative stages. Greetings from Harare.
Fr. Antonio Llamas cmf (In Zimbabwe from 2002 to 2023)
My name is Antonio Llamas, I am a Claretian Missionary who was ordained priest in 1994 and has been working outside Spain (my native country) for so many years in Argentina, Zimbabwe and now Italy. I have been working for 5 years in the North of Argentina, the border with Bolivia. Those years were so special and full of happiness. In 2002, I arrived to Zimbabwe. For more than ten years I have been working in the rural areas, in Gokwe Diocese, I have been living also in a town outside Harare (Ruwa town) and in Harare itself. I feel part of the mission of the Claretian Missionaries in the World and part of the history of the Claretian Missionaries in Zimbabwe. From August 2023 I started a new work in Rome as Secretary of Justice, Peace and Integrity of the Creation for my Congregation. Mwoyo wangu wasara kuZimbabwe! Ndinotenda Mwari nechipo chokushandira muZimbabwe makore anopfuura 20!
